Personal reflections & stories
July 6, 2026
Dear Friends and Family,
I hope the month of July has been kind to you so far. As for me, I am recovering from surgery I had two weeks ago. For some time, I had been suffering from back and leg pain. After an MRI, I discovered that a cyst was growing in my back, pressing on my nerves and causing increasing pain and discomfort. Surgery was the only option.
Despite many people advising me to go abroad, to places like Egypt, India, or America; I chose to have my surgery here in Abuja, Nigeria. After researching different hospitals, I decided on Nizamiye Hospital. I was impressed by the doctors' patience, professionalism, and expertise. Most importantly, I appreciated their God-fearing nature, which gave me a level of assurance I couldn't find elsewhere.
Alhamdulillah, the surgery went well. With the prayers of family and friends, I was discharged just three days later. I highly recommend Nizamiye Hospital to all Nigerians. My experience showed me that we don't always need to travel abroad for medical care. We have excellent doctors and facilities right here in Nigeria. Choosing local care is not only cost-effective and less stressful, but in my case, it also delivered outstanding results. I am grateful to be recovering in the comfort of my own home rather than spending months in a hospital overseas.
